According to reports, at present, Shanghai has promoted the classification of garbage in residential areas and sorted out foaming food containers during the classification process. When sweepers sweep the floor, they also pay special attention to picking up waste boxes. For large and small restaurants and business buildings, staff are arranged for recycling. Shanghai has also established four centralized disposable plastic lunch boxes for recycling in the Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern Regions, forming a strong social recycling network.
Zou Hua said that in the recycling of disposable plastic lunch boxes, the "one-penny policy" launched in Shanghai a year ago has played an important role. The gratuity paid is from each 3 cents collected for the disposal of disposable plastic lunch boxes.
It is understood that at present, the consumption of disposable plastic lunch boxes in Shanghai is 800,000 per day, and 300,000 of them still have “white pollution” after recycling 500,000.
